I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with 28 years of experience working with children, adults and families to enhance relationships and personal well-being. I enjoy working with youth and adults and use a client-centered approach to address anxiety, depression, trauma, and behavioral issues. I also like to work with parents who may be struggling with their children's behavior. The relationships we have with our own parents whether we are adults or kids has a great impact on how we see and interact with the world; understanding these relationships can go a long way in understanding ourselves.
In addition to talk therapy, I use techniques from Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Emotional Free Therapy (EFT), guided imagery, mindfulness, relaxation, emotional regulation, and trauma therapy utilizing Brainspotting (BSP) to create a safe and compassionate atmosphere to help people heal from trauma and stress.
From the outside looking in it often seems everyone else's life is better than our own. But of course, we all have our dark and scary stories. Being able to recognize we want a better life and reaching out to ask how that might happen is such a strength and a big step in feeling better.
