If your child has experienced trauma or dissociation, they may have trouble managing their feelings, communicating their needs, or be using challenging behaviors. The world can feel scary to the traumatized child, so it's hard for them to communicate. They often cope in ways that were the best solution during the trauma, but no longer fit current circumstances, and which seem confusing or destructive. I see it as my job to help your child use the language of play to learn how to express emotions, solve problems, & get needs met in healthy ways that fit the present!
Parent work is an important part of child therapy. You know your child best & are an essential partner in therapy. I aim to help you make sense of confusing behaviors, learn new ways of communicating with your child, & develop ways of intervening when they need help. Whatever shows up, we'll approach it together & find the best solution for you & your child.
It's painful seeing your child struggle after trauma. They deserve the best. I draw on intensive post-grad certifications in psychoanalytic therapy, & trauma & dissociation, as well as decades of experience working with children, to offer experienced, evidence-based care.
