Life is complicated and stressful leading to many mental health challenges such as depression, fear of moving forward which is often anxiety around failure. In therapy we will explore how early attachment issues affects how we process life events and how to untangle those issues to move forward less encumbered. In addition I see patients who are facing early cognitive and/ or physical decline; and adult children whose parents are aging.. Stress is inevitable, loss is what we all must face, therapy is where we find reason and understanding and support in the process of knowing oneself.
Listening... is what I do best so I can focus on understanding the unfamiliar pain. Then, recognizing and accepting of all feelings as normal. When I see patients who have lost a child, parent or spouse. I am just being there and holding their grief with them. That is what I can do. Listening is not just hearing. It's a deep shared experience.
As a Psychoanalytically trained Psychotherapist I Supervise other Psychotherapists and Psychoanalysts. I am a listener, who is supportive and active without imposing myself. As stated,I can sit with and hold all kinds of major losses in my patients life. This includes life transitions, as well as aging and cognitive loss in self or others.
