Psychotherapy is a very special endeavor with potential for positive change and decrease in discomfort. I see the therapeutic relationship formed in psychotherapy as that vehicle for change. I have worked 10 years as a nurse practitioner and over 15 years as a Clinical Psychologist. My expertise in these fields place me in a unique position to understand the mind/body interfaceI bring a unique perspective to my work particularly in the areas of women's health issues, transitions in life: men and women, postpartum depression, stress reduction, mindfulness, and coping with chronic medical illnesses. I am on staff at Hoag Hospital.
I also have experience working with people with depression, anxiety, panic disorders, obsessive compulsive disorders, somatization disorder and eating disorders. Another area important to me is to help people who have physical symptoms not explained by the medical community. I also work extensively with people who have experienced trauma in their lives.
My extensive experience also includes executive stress and burn-out. I work well with adolescents, and adults of all ages. I do couple therapy and work with couples in regards to post-affair issues. Visit my website, www.drsuzanneross.com to learn more.
