The ideal client is a person who desires to reach his or her full potential and is motivated to make the necessary changes for that growth. As a counselor, my goal is to see clients reach their full potential through the self-actualization process and by overcoming barriers to sound mental health.

My theoretical orientation is eclectic. I start with a client-centered approach and incorporate other counseling theories as needed.

As a mechanic might use more than one tool to repair a vehicle, or a physician might use different treatment plans depending on the illness, I believe a counselor should use whatever therapy helps the client heal. This may vary depending on the client's personality, history and presenting problem.
