Making the decision to change is often difficult as there is comfort in holding onto old ways of thinking or patterns of behavior even when they are ineffective and no longer serve us well. My goal is to help guide you through the change or healing process. My therapeutic approach is supportive and collaborative. I work with adults and older adolescents with anxiety, depression, and mood disorders. I also have significant experience working with individuals experiencing life transitions, relationship/marital issues, stress management or coping skill difficulties, grief and loss, abuse and trauma, and substance use disorders.
Because no one therapeutic approach works for everyone, I integrate several approaches including insight oriented, cognitive behavioral, and solution focused strategies. I also incorporate mindfulness, acceptance, skill building, and stress management techniques into the therapeutic process as needed. Self-empowerment is key to living the life you desire.
My overall approach is collaborative and based on empathy, trust, and respect. The goal is to promote growth and to help you to navigate through the challenges and barriers that are interfering with your overall life satisfaction. I offer you a safe space to express yourself freely and to gain greater understanding of yourself in the process.
