I support ADHD, Anxiety, Adoption/Attachment, Challenging Behaviors & other issues that impact family, school, and relationships. I support the "family unit" and provide parents with psychoeducation, parent training ~ and often collaborate with the school system. I utilize many therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) & aspects of DBT as well as Attachment -Focused Therapy including Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP)* completed Level 1 Training.
I have 20+ years of experience working with children and families including outpatient and inpatient counseling, adoption as well as working in the school system. I'm also a Certified School Social Worker. I'm a member of several professional organizations (such as NASW, CHADD, ATTACH, NJAWT & NJCA). I continue to attend post -graduate training.
I strive to create a trusting environment and have a calm and supportive demeanor; I offer a safe and comforting environment to discuss challenges and find solutions. **NEW PARENT Support Group forming (THIS JANUARY 2020) for Parents of children (ages 3-12) with behavioral Issues including ADHD, ODD, Sensory Disorder, Anxiety D/O or other diagnosed or undiagnosed emotional/behavioral disorder. This group will offer: Support and guidance in a comfortable and non-judgemental environment; An opportunity to meet other parents who are dealing with similar challenges; Information on effective strategies to help feel more confident in parenting; Information and resources available in the community to assist and advocate for your child; ~Light refreshments will be served~
