Suzanne M Donohue, MSW, LCSW, Clinical Social Work/Therapist in Mountain Lakes
*I specialize in supporting Child and Teen Anxiety. I have extensive experience treating anxiety, ADHD, and behavioral problems. With younger children~ much of the work is with the parents providing psychoeducation, parent training, developing effective behavior plans and collaborating with school districts. When working with teen and adult clients~ coping skills are taught. My therapy style matches the Client Centered approach which places great emphasis on the client/therapist relationship. This allows the client the ability to guide therapy in directions that would be most beneficial to them. Additionally I utilize CBT and parts of DBT to aid in building coping skills and improve relationships.
I have 20+ years experience working with children and families including outpatient and inpatient counseling, adoption as well as working in the school system. I'm also a Certified School Social Worker. I'm a member of several professional organizations (such as NASW, CHADD & ATTACH). I continue to attend educational training and workshops.
I strive to create a trusting environment and have a calm and supportive demeanor; I offer a safe and comforting environment to discuss challenges and find solutions. As a parent, remember... you may not be "the problem", but you are always part of "the solution!" Reach out to discuss how you can help your child!
