About
I have a practical approach and do insight and emotionally based psychotherapy. I like a variety of issues and personalities. My work frequently includes self-esteem and relationship issues, transitions, anxiety, depression, and mood disorders, gender and sexual issues, multicultural issues, acute and chronic trauma issues, and loss. I deeply value the therapeutic relationship and see it as the cornerstone to most of what happens in psychotherapy. I have a growth oriented rather than pathology based paradigm and I tend to really like and enjoy the people that I work with.
Clients appreciate the opportunity to work closely on what they care about with a therapist who is genuinely interested in how they think and feel. I see my role as being active without being intrusive, and as being attuned to what a particular client needs from me empathically.
I try to bring forward feelings in a safe, supportive environment. It can be exhilarating and relieving to feel understood and find meaning in life's difficulties. When we learn about the large part of ourselves that can be out of sight, we have more choices in life.
