About
Thank you for your interest. You may also visit my web site: www.susanwhittington.com. I am fully certified by the American Association of Sexuality Educators Counselors and Therapists. As a University of Michigan trained sex therapist, I work largely with women in treating a range of sexual, relationship, and intimacy concerns. I see clients from both heterosexual and LGBT communities. It's important to me to create a safe and collaborative experience to facilitate open discussion around subject matter that may seem hard to talk about.
Whether you are going through a particularly difficult time, or have had concerns over a longer span, I think of therapy as a way of freeing yourself from the obstacles which prevent you from moving forward. Sometimes, we try to face these challenges alone - this is unnecessary and perhaps limiting.
We will work together using a variety of treatment modalities to address your needs and reach your therapeutic goals. Sometimes, starting can be the hardest part. I offer a free 15 minute phone consultation before our first meeting so that we may see if we might be a good fit.
