As a therapist, I bring authenticity and humor into our time together. I aim to create a space where you feel comfortable being yourself and open to expressing your genuine feelings/thoughts. Emotions can be intense and I am here to help you control them. I will strive to name and provide the words to empower you to speak about your experiences and to help reduce any shame, guilt, or stigma you may be carrying. Although those emotions are a heavy burden to carry alone, I look forward to helping share the weight and help you feel more confident and in control moving forward.
Therapy is about you and you are the expert on yourself, I am a guide to help you explore in a validating and supportive space. I utilize person-centered therapy which focuses on unconditional positive regard. As humans we make mistakes and I am here to help you recognize what other factors contributed to your behavior to enable the change you desire.
I also use cognitive behavior therapy to help you understand your behaviors, emotions, and thoughts that leave you feeling stuck. I have had experience working in an Elementary school, at a residential substance use facility, at a residential eating disorders facility, and community mental health center.
