Hi, my name is Susan Resnik. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida. The focus areas of my practice are Individuals, Couples, and Adolescents. My approach to therapy emphasizes personal growth and self-actualization as well as a commitment to reducing the stigma around mental health and advocating for better access to mental health resources. The most common therapeutic approaches that I use in my work are Couples Therapy Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness and Acceptance Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, and Narrative Therapy.
I typically work with couples on communication, conflict resolution, parenting, blended families, remarriage, premarital and infidelity issues. With individuals, I address, anxiety, depression, PTSD, grief, separation/divorce, anger management, emotional regulation assertiveness training life transitions, and self-esteem issues.
For my clients, I create a safe, supportive, accepting, and nurturing environment. I put my clients at ease and make them feel comfortable. My communication style is that of a listener. I encourage reflection and new self-insights.
