Life can be challenging and there are times that usual ways of coping don’t work. It can be hard to believe in your own strengths and to find the strategies that make life more manageable. In therapy, I help people understand how and why they may be stuck. We will find tools to help you manage difficult emotions and unproductive strategies. We will find out what you care about, and what moves you away from being your best self. We will find ways for you to move forward in a healthy, valued way.
I use evidence-based therapies (mostly ACT and CBT), which I find well-received in my practice serving children, adolescents and adults. With children, I do this mostly through games, reading stories and noticing changing emotions and thoughts. With adults, I might introduce reflective exercises and unique metaphors that can resonate beyond our 45 minutes.
We often have to learn to be comfortable being uncomfortable in this process, and I provide a warm, accepting and open space in which to do so. I encourage you to look at my website or just reach out for a short phone call to learn more about me.
