We all go through stressful periods in our lives. Sometimes it's a result of a traumatic event, such as a sexual assault, loss of a loved one, or difficult life transition. Sometimes it's more complicated to pinpoint. Maybe we are having trouble coping with school, work, or everyday life and are not sure why. Maybe we feel stuck and just feel "off" or not ourselves. I believe that everyone is capable of changing their life and moving toward happiness. As a Counseling Psychologist I work with individuals who may be struggling with depression, anxiety, life transitions and stressors (such as grief, infertility, college student/school stress), and relationship distress. I am certified through Pittsburgh Action Against Rape as a Sexual Assault Counselor and work with survivors of sexual assault and trauma.
I am an integrative psychologist who believes that learning coping skills, as well as learning more about oneself and emotions can make for lasting change. I incorporate concepts of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).
