I treat people newly in recovery from substance use disorders whether it's the first time or after many attempts. treat first responder trauma. I can hear very traumatic events when needed. Whether you have a specific goal to address or need help sorting out the root of the problem we can work on it together. Most clients are glad to know that I have ideas, I listen, assess, and I know the process to get to the core issue. I like my clients to get support and assistance quickly on the way to the deeper solutions.
My first goal is to create an environment that I want as a client. Safe, relaxed, informal, but professional. My specialties are person centered talk therapy, EMDR, cognitive therapy and deep emotional work. I listen to identify the root of the problem; grief, trauma, addiction etc. Clients only need to bring their concerns and I know the path forward.
I've worked through many issues myself and have become comfortable with my own strengths and imperfections. I consider wounded people to be "my people." I'm confident as a therapist, but also down to earth. I'm an equal partner in the healing process. Ideally therapy is a mix of light moments, deep moments and finding ways to heal, cope and be happier!
