I feel privileged when a distressed family, couple, or individual allows me to accompany and guide them through their healing journeys. My clients include adolescents and adults who are dealing with issues such as anticipatory or post-death grief, difficulty adjusting to life transitions (including but not limited to adolescence, launching of children, empty nest, job loss), depression, stress or anxiety, traumatic stress, couple problems, divorce, blended or adoptive family adjustment, and adult survival from childhood sexual abuse.
I am a psychotherapist and music therapist. Although much of my work involves the traditional verbal interaction, I also use music as appropriate and acceptable to the situation and the client(s). Clients do not need any special talent to benefit from these other media.
My targeted training in music therapy, individual psychotherapy, and couple/family therapy has given me a combination of skills that is rare in the therapeutic community. These skills have been enhanced through my clinical work in a variety of settings, ranging from mental health hospitals to outpatient clinics to private practice.
