I have been a practicing psychotherapist for 20 years, working primarily with individuals and couples (including same sex couples): including individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds, parents and adult children seeking to heal old wounds and improve communication. My work with individual adult clients has focussed primarily on anxiety, panic attacks, depression, adjusting to life transitions and problems in primary relationships. I have studied a variety disciplines and blend traditions from the East (mindfulness) and West (CBT, Attachment Theory, Trauma Focus, Parts Work), integration of body/mind, and depth-psychology. My relationship work is informed and guided by top experts in the field of couples therapy: Sue Johnson PhD, Esther Perel, John/Julie Gottman, PhD, Terrence Real.
Therapy has been described as the "talking" cure and sometimes the very act of talking or sharing feelings with an experienced professional can help. As the field has advanced, so too our understanding of causes of dis-ease along with new approaches to facilitate healing.
