I am both an art therapist and counselor with many years of experience working with individuals challenged with issues such as anxiety, low self-esteem and difficulties adjusting to life's changes. I can help you express and explore your core beliefs and concerns in a safe, calming, non-judgmental environment. In addition to traditional verbal therapy, I offer art therapy, mindfulness, and creative writing/journaling. *Art Therapy allows for expression of feelings using materials such as markers, paint, and pastels. It is a non-threatening and more immediate method to voice issues; drawing ability is not important.
You will have the opportunity to decide the particular therapeutic method you would like to use during each session in order to derive the most from your therapy. In this manner your therapy is tailored towards your particular needs, which may vary occasionally or frequently. Flexibility, acceptance, and creativity are the key words to describe my work.
I understand that life can be difficult at times and reaching out to others for support is so important in order to feel healthier and to lead a "life worth living.". I believe it is a strength to ask for help, and therapy provides us with an important tool to better understand our thoughts, feelings, attitudes and resulting behaviors.
