My name is Susan Beggan Paganie. I have extensive experience as a Licensed Professional Counselor. I work with trauma, mood and anxiety disorders, ADHD and high functioning autism (formerly called Aspergers.) I also help couples with relationship challenges. I provide a supportive, nonjudgemental, caring environment to enhance the qualities of relationships and overall life satisfaction. I am passionate about the work I do, striving to always do better after watching these things affect family members during my life. My practice is unique in the sense that I have structured my training to meet the many varying needs of my clients.
I have a psychodynamic approach to therapy to delve into underlying trauma or events that may have impacted you. We'll see how distorted thoughts and defense mechanisms may be affecting your present life. I also use a skills based approach, coming up with ways to improve the quality of relationships. We'll develop coping skills to navigate life effectively.
In our first few sessions you can expect us to explore your history so that we can discover the ways that your unique life has contributed to where you are today. We will come up with a plan together that will help you to remove roadblocks and patterns that have kept you from living your best life. We'll figure out what's been holding you back.
