I enjoy working with a variety of people. An area of special interest to me is helping someone who is experiencing loss, either due to a break up, job loss, family issues, or the death of a loved one. In addition, I have many years experience helping people deal with depression, anxiety,and life transitions. We all have life problems that arise at some point, and it is rewarding to help a person change, grow, and become happier.
The most important part of treatment is establishing a relationship. I foster this with careful listening and honest feedback. I help a person to make decisions and changes using insight oriented therapy, short-term problem focused treatment, cognitive behavioral therapy, and relationship based treatment.
I often work with attorneys. I am OASAS approved to provide substance abuse evaluations for individual who have been charged or convicted with a DWI. Adoption has profound effects on children, adoptive parents, and birth parents. I have many years experience working with all three members of the triad.
