Law enforcement officers, first responders, correctional officers, and veterans have unique jobs, they experience things civilians couldn't imagine, they have mental health needs that aren't "the usual" everyday need. Helpers are exposed to secondary trauma, experience depression, anxiety, and substance abuse. If they ask for help they are considered weak. This is why it is important to maintain confidentiality and continue to work towards goals of decreasing these symptoms and increasing a healthier way of processing what they have been exposed to. Working with an experienced therapist the client feels they can trust is important.
In working with substance abuse and PTSD, I embody a holistic approach that addresses mind, body and spirit. I have had the privilege of working with first responders, veterans, children, families, and addiction. I have worked with various socio-economic levels, cultural backgrounds, sexual orientations and faiths, each treatment is individualized.
Choosing a therapist can be difficult. Take this time to contact me with questions or concerns and I will assist. If by chance you feel a connection and would like to start working towards your recovery together then let's get started, if not let's help you find someone who you feel that connection with. I look forward to your questions and your call.
