I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a certified EMDR clinician with 30 years of experience who specializes in working with individuals, couples, and families experiencing difficulties related to trauma, negative life events, marital issues, addictions, eating disorders, depression, anxiety, and grief. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I have spent years studying how individuals learn to cope with life events that have led to a need for therapeutic support. I assist clients develop skills to improve their overall functioning. Specifically, I combine Person Center Therapy, Mindfulness, and other traditional therapeutic techniques to meet the needs of my clients. I have been able to invest in others professionally following becoming an Approved Clinical Supervisor. It has been very rewarding pouring into those seeking licensure.

My approach to therapy is client driven and often "two heads are better than one" when seeking solutions to problems. In life things can unexpectedly occur, or life can become stressful. Sometimes life can get messy & we all need help to get through the chaos! I am here to work with your child (ages 3-19) & your family to sort through the struggles that may be going on in your lives. Together we can work through these struggles with individual child sessions with prescriptive interventions & coping skills, family therapy, and/or Play Therapy, as well as parent-only sessions to make sure we are moving forward together! No problem is too big or too small!

As a Licensed Professional Counselor, John counsels individuals, couples and families in a variety of areas. Having been a senior pastor for over 20 years molded John to understand the various issues people encounter in life. His desire to equip individuals facing these life challenges was his motivation to obtain further education specifically in counseling. John is passionate about empowering couples at every stage of their relationship. He seeks to help create and maintain greater love and health in relations

My ideal client is one who is ready to make some healthy life changes. Calling a therapist and making an appointment is the first crucial step to self healing and I realize how hard that may be for you. The most important aspect of therapy is the relationship between the therapist and client. Without trust and respect, the healing process can not take place.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I enjoy working with children and adolescents struggling with social communication difficulties, grief, anxiety, depression, anger, poor self esteem, and poor coping patterns, to name a few. I also work with families struggling with communication and behavior issues. I aim to help with "heeling" beyond traditional counseling interventions but rather through experiential learning and human-animal interactions. I assist with establishing healthy and effective coping strategies and lifestyle habits that encourage and promote mental health and wellness.

I am an empathetic and compassionate person, who provides a safe, non-judgmental, and trusting therapeutic environment to help individuals thrive. Through providing a person-centered therapeutic approach, I help guide individuals to explore stressors and identifying strengths within themselves to change their perceptions and use more positive coping skills. I have a passion for working with children, adolescents and young adults, offering individual and family therapy. I enjoy using creative techniques. such as play and art to help younger children express feelings and find new ways of approaching challenges.
