After achieving your goal(s) we may decide to set more goals or you may choose to end your counseling for now.

I have been providing counseling and supervision services in the Mid-Michigan area for 20 years. I am trained in all areas of professional counseling, including grief and loss, depression, anxiety, life changes, and relationships. I use professional and evidence based techniques, and strive to help clients find meaning in their lives, with no judgement about how they get there. In an atmosphere of grace, clients are able to identify what they need to feel whole. I have special training in Christian Counseling for those who wish to apply Biblical principles to their life choices and desire to change unwanted behavior.

I help people address mental health issues through a combination of highly individualized therapy and lifestyle interventions. I have extensive experience treating depression and other mood disorders, anxiety disorders, eating disorders and trauma. I help people better understand how their attitudes and behaviors are influenced by their life experience and current environment, so change is possible. My approach is highly collaborative and flexible, and I work with my clients to maximize the benefits of therapy by helping them develop supports and opportunities for growth outside scheduled sessions.

With more than 35 years of experience as a Clinical Social Worker, I have learned invaluable lessons in the fields of mental health and addiction. I have been actively involved in guiding others as a trusted supervisor, with endorsements from the NASW as a Supervisor and holding a CAADC credential for substance use disorders.

I am a masters level therapist with over 15 years of experience working with children and adults from all walks of life, struggling with a wide variety of emotional, behavioral, and mental health conditions. "Survival" necessitates a disconnect from our body, heart and mind. Allowing narratives to unfold, within a safe relational dyad, can invite a journey back to the Self within. While I have a special interest, and heart for, working with those who have been deeply hurt, I also welcome couples who are struggling to live in harmony with one another or those who want to rekindle a "passion" for living life together in real, authentic partnership.

I have extensive experience working with various types of trauma. I am trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) as well as Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). I work with children, adolescents, and adults. I also see individuals with body image issues, depression, stress, grief and loss, divorce adjustment, relationship, parenting issues, women's issues, and behavior management. I start with a person centered approach which includes genuiness, empathy and unconditional positive regard.
