Did you know that the most important part of communication is INVISIBLE! It’s more than words, gestures, and tone. It's called “mentalizing.” Mentalizing is a genetic brain network used for making sense of what people say--It helps us understand the mental states of others and thus, know how they might respond to us. Genetic variations in this brain network can lead to great skill or mild to severe difficulties in communication effectiveness. A person can have average to superior intelligence and still have difficulty understanding the mental states of others. Connection with others may be difficult to establish or preserve.

It is my primary goal as a therapist to help individuals establish personal and obtainable goals specific to their concerns, needs, and abilities. It is vital that in doing this, I am there as a guide and supportive figure only; their accomplishments will be of their own doing. Making changes in life takes a process, and more often than not we need support. I believe that people has the power to heal and find peace within themselves, either if they have to overcome life-challenging situations or to learn to live through them. I have a psychoanalytic and cognitive training which helps me to provide goal-oriented service, in a warm and confidential relationship. I am bilingual (Spanish- English) and certified EMDR therapist. EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, a type of therapy aim to help people overcome trauma and anxiety related disorders among others.
