I view that my job as a counselor is to assist in easing your emotional discomfort. I also provide clinical supervision. My office is located in downtown Juneau Alaska. I have 30+ years of counseling experience with individuals, couples, children and families. I will help you to clarify what it is that you would like to get out of counseling and we will work together towards achieving your goals.

Integrating modern science & ancient healing arts to heal; I've learned from many amazing people what's worked throughout the ages to ease human difficulties and emotional pain using western esoteric arts, mythology, and what nature has taught us. I have come to understand how challenges help us shape and strengthen the center of us. I studied everything I could get my hands on, anything that seemed to help people live life to the fullest: Western medicines of neuroscience and psychology; I studied in my mind and in my body; I lost my way and always found my path again. I love to find the heart of people- to enjoy fully!

Currently accepting new clients as of 3/18/2024. I enjoy working with individuals who are coping with trauma, substance use, anxiety, depression, life transitions, stress, grief and loss, and more. I work alongside clients to help them identify their ideal outcomes as they navigate through obstacles and learn new skills to achieve a more balanced, fulfilling, life. I am open to working with couples and families on a case by case basis.

I am the Agency Psychologist for the Center for Systematic Therapy and Research Services (CSTARS). I work full-time after a career in research (University of Washington 1987-2004) and faculty appointment (John's Hopkins, Department of Mental Health [2004-2007]). I currently focus on directing two clinical programs with Clinical Director Melissa Byrd: 1) Relapse Prevention for advanced recovery in addiction and codependency (Group and Individual), 2) Sexual Victimization recovery from childhood and young adult PTSD (Group and Individual). I conduct neurodevelopmental assessments for Dr. Stumme-Parks' work with CSTARS' ADHD clients.
