I am an Ackerman trained family therapist and graduate of NYU, practicing individual, family, couple, and support group psychotherapy. I specialize in relationships, intimacy, illness, trauma, and loss. My therapeutic work w/clients focuses on exploring how family, religion, and cultures of origin influence how one learns to adapt in the world, both independently and when exploring new areas of intimacy and connection. I believe in the importance of my own self-awareness, acknowledging that the work in understanding one’s relationship to privilege regarding ethnicity, color, and other intersectional identities are a lifelong study.

My work's passion lies in my belief that the body and mind are deeply connected; therefore, the emotional, physical, and spiritual aspects of each individual need to be balanced for growth and healing to occur. I received my Master of Social Work from Smith College School for Social Work. I completed a two year post-graduate training program in psychodynamic psychotherapy and in the treatment of eating disorders and substance abuse at Wardenbrug Health Center at CU-Boulder. I have additional specialized training in the treatment of chronic neurological illnesses-MS in particular-through my work with the Rocky Mountain MS Center. I coordinated the eating disorder program at CU-Boulder and I have undergone additional trainings in DBT, ACT, CBT and psychodynamic therapy.

Does it seem like the language in therapists' introductions are similar? How do you know if a counselor is right for you? A comfortable and genuine connection is vital in the relationship between a client and therapist, and most importantly - healing takes place in the relationship you have with yourself. I trust and believe that every person holds the wisdom to their own answers for growth. Sometimes we need someone to whole-heartedly hear us and support along the way. I view counseling as an opportunity to be fully seen and heard for who you are and have a companion/guide with you.

My clinical style includes meeting you where you are at in your unique life experiences (i.e.; stress, change, depression, etc.) then helping you make sense of your problems in a meaningful way while also learning tangible coping skills and discovering creative solutions. My work is infused with curiosity and I'm dedicated to the process of unfolding our full potential, through the life phases. I cater to what is ready to be consciously explored, healed and transformed. My foundation is in evidenced based practices and other eclectic modalities as appropriate (see below for more details).
