Growing up, I always knew that I was different. Intuitive, creative, sensitive and emotional, I knew that I didn't fit the mold I was given but I could not understand why. As a therapist, I work with others who feel that they do not fit - those of use who have felt discomfort in ourselves, discomfort in our families, discomfort in our communities. I believe that in order to truly understand who we are and who we want to become, we must explore the experiences that we’ve had and look at the impact they have had on us. Once we understand what we have to work with, we are free to chose the best ways to move forward on the journey.

More and more people are having trouble knowing who they are or where they belong in life. What we were taught growing up or what we learn from society doesn't make sense or apply any longer. Because of this, we have difficulties from depression to questioning our own belief system. It may appear as confusion, anxiety, anger, or anything that disrupts our day-to-day life. When we feel this way it is a hurt or loss that is almost impossible to describe. My type of counseling presents people with an opportunity to understand why and how they think and feel the way they do and to go deeper than they could have possibly imagined.

I am a trans and queer therapist and I greatly believe in the power of having a therapist that shares identities or experiences similar to your own! I work with trans and queer youth and adults. Living in a marginalized identity brings many challenges and I offer support, skills, and a systems perspective to navigate those barriers-while also celebrating joy, resilience, successes, and all parts of your identity. I specialize in gender affirming therapy, trauma therapy, and working with historically marginalized folx. My first priorities are safety and trust, so that we can move towards healing and taking up space!

I began Nomad Therapy Services with the intention of breaking down some of the traditional barriers to accessing support by creating an environment that is laid-back and unconventional. We can meet in the office or your home, the park or café, or we can do a ‘walk and talk’ – whatever feels right for you! The Nomad belief is that our environment impacts our ability to fully and meaningfully engage in the therapeutic process. And having a therapist who provides a non-judgmental space free of formal constraints can help meaningfully guide our healing and growth.

I am passionate about helping support my clients in their process of self-discovery and healing. I have a holistic approach and deeply value intersectionality. I believe that through the support of counseling we can experience liberation, self-acceptance and belonging that will lead to meaningful and healthy relationships. I strive to create a safe, compassionate, and inclusive space for clients to address challenges they are facing and to inspire the process of self-exploration and growth.
