I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor who has worked in the field of Mental Health and Substance Use disorders for twenty+ years. I am especially concerned for, not only the person who uses, but the people who have been affected by a loved one's behaviors, be it substance use or something else. Often dealing with a loved one's issues can cause significant impairment in your own life and mental health. Self-care is essential if you are going to live a sane and happy life. To help someone else, it is of upmost importance to have support and help for yourself.

With over 20 years of experience in the field of helping others, I have learned that making a genuine connection with people is the best way in which to begin the work of therapy. One of the most important skills I have to offer is to carefully and compassionately listen to what you have to say. We then go from there; when you are ready, we begin to look at how to change.

I have been trained in a wide variety of treatment approaches and use a collaborative approach to determine how to meet your particular needs. I am open to working with most mental health issues but I am looking for people that are motivated to change. For interested clients, I will use an integrative approach in which we talk about how food, exercise, and other lifestyle factors can impact your mental health.

At Interactions we believe in treating the child and adolescent within the context of the family, school and larger community. For adults, we offer individual, family, and couples counseling, separately or in combination, so that the person can achieve the best results in the shortest amount of time. My ideal client would be someone who seeks to find meaning in their lives. They feel lost, as though they need direction. They often feel like their point of view is different and seek to understand themselves and others. Their needs are to feel safe, heard, and validated.
