My mission is to walk alongside individuals, couples, families, adults, and adolescents during any of the challenges life is throwing at them, not matter how big or small, while honoring foundational Christian truths of scripture. My goal for each person who walks through our doors is to experience the compassionate care available in an environment that promotes safety and healing. Together, we will work to increase personal insight and motivation to change those things that are harmful, whether it be in negative relationships, feelings of hopelessness, or addictive behaviors.

Finding a therapist is complicated, and connecting with one is challenging. You search and search and all you are looking for is relief. Relief from the constant racing thoughts and panic. Relief from feeling too numb to get out of bed. You feel as though you are suffering through each day instead of thriving. You have experienced a death and you feel unsure about what happens in your life without them. My ideal clients are open to a deep exploration of their stories, identities, and needs and are motivated to make real change. I take great honor in having the privilege of helping my clients through the healing process.

I want therapy "to be a place where people can experience deep repair, forgiveness, and an opening to greater wisdom." I was trained that we are not seeking to find what is wrong with people rather we are seeking to understand what restrains them from being the Self they want to be. This work can attend to brief/solution-focused methods while also listening for and liberating the transpersonal, the spirit of one's Self. My clients tend to show up with the experiences they might describe as depression, anxiety, reactivity or relationship disruption...

I understand how life can seem chaotic and lonely. Knowing we are not alone can be one of the most freeing acknowledgments. However, I appreciate how complex challenges can be so the step towards freedom is not always the easiest. I don’t intend to change you. Instead, I will work with you as you get closer to where you want to be. I view the world through a faith-based lens and create a judgment-free environment. My desire is to meet you where you are and to help you move forward during challenging times.

Life can be full of joyful moments, but it can also contain times of hurt and painful, unmet expectations. The reality we face can crash into our dreams, bursting our hopes, leaving us shattered with disappointment. Not only can it leave us to manage a real-life crisis, the result can be a crisis of belief and confusion about our purpose and direction in life.

Are you finding yourself scrolling through mental health videos and yelling, "OMG. That's me?!" You are not alone, survival mode really is a thing, there are others out there drinking caffeine like it's water and hiding in the bathroom to eat a cookie in peace. It's time to let down your messy bun, put on the clothes that make you feel good, and let yourself be free to be who you are. If you are a caregiver for little ones, it is time to find out who YOU are outside of what those little ones need. You want to run wild, to fuel your soul, to be fierce, discover who you are again, and love the self you lost while trying to survive.

Saturdays now available. I believe that for counseling to be effective, both you and I must be actively involved in the goal setting and assessment process. This process will require in and out of session work for both of us. At times these changes in self perception, insight, and behavior may feel uncomfortable for you but, with practice, will become more routine. There are potential risks as well as benefits when beginning therapy but you must weigh the tremendous benefit against those risks.

Starting therapy is one of the kindest things you can do for yourself. One of my greatest honors in life is being able to meet clients in the depths of their pain and to support them as they find healing. My clients are some of the bravest people I’ve ever met, and it’s been especially powerful to see them embrace love, forgiveness, and to be freed from shame. My heart is to work with those struggling with grief, anxiety, depression, and so much more. My approach is tailored to the needs of the client and I provide Faith-Based and Non Faith-Based therapy.

As a Certified Sex Therapist, I work with people who come from all sorts of beliefs systems about sex. Some see sex as something just reserved for marriage while others have a more casual, open approach to their sexual relationships. No matter the values you have, it is possible for sex to become something that causes us pain. This pain might be physical-or it might be emotional, leading us to feel sad, anxious, or disconnected from our own body or relationships. Sometimes it is simply harder than it "should" be. The good news is, I have experience in helping people like you find healing in their relationships with sex.

Hardy. Delicate. Deeply Rooted. Those are some descriptions I’ve heard of the Redbud – Oklahoma’s state tree. They’re also an early sign that spring is coming. What a great representation of the internal growth and change we strive for in counseling! For 20 years, I've worked with individuals and families through grief & loss, anxiety, depression, family/work/personal stress, coping with divorce, remarriage, and rebuilding brokenness. I have extensive experience in medically-focused settings (disability at any age, hospice, caregiving, medical trauma, chronic pain/illness) and with aging populations coping with life stage changes.

I strongly believe in the inherent potential within every individual to transform their circumstances, enhance their personal growth, and ultimately become the best version of themselves. Despite the setbacks, failures, and hardships we encounter along the way, I firmly believe that we all possess the power to evolve and adapt. Life, in my perspective, is a tangible journey that can be shaped and defined according to our own desires for connection and love. When working with my clients, I prioritize the establishment of a strong connection, setting achievable goals, and making a dedicated commitment to help them achieve change.

Life throws almost everyone a curve ball at some point in their life. My primary goal is to provide you with a safe, caring environment in which, together, we can process the issues and the feelings around them, that disrupt the balance and harmony in your life. Identifying strengths you may have lost sight of, exploring options and challenging you to risk new thoughts and/or behaviors can help you rediscover the path you want to travel.

All counseling issues are, in some way, related to grief. Loss of: a loved one, a relationship, work, health, youth, peace, innocence, self-esteem, etc. I believe all people are looking for unconditional acceptance, compassion and gentleness in dealing with their internal wounds. I entered the counseling field after watching a close friend heal from post-abortion grief by simply finding a safe place to talk about her experience. I feel that the ability to provide a safe place for people to express their pain is something I do naturally.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.
Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
How much does therapy cost?
The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.
What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?
Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.
Are therapy sessions confidential?
Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
