I am passionate about helping others cope with day to day stressors and the anxieties of life. I am a strong proponent of the power that counseling can have on the individual. I believe that it can be life-changing, and that through individual and group counseling, an individual can learn the power of honesty, empathy and self-acceptance.
I utilize a cognitive-behavioral approach. This means that part of the work I do is to help individuals develop tools to assist with managing emotional responses and ways they are reacting to emotional situations. I will also involve some DBT skills training to help with distress tolerance.
