My name is Gina Cardines and I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Texas for 4 years. With a total of over 20 years overall experience in the mental health field and several years as a licensed therapist, I have experience in working with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, and PTSD. I also have experience working with survivors of Intimate Partner Violence, human trafficking, and other traumas, including survivors of child abuse, First Responders, and active and retired military personnel.

It's no secret that we live in a world where finding a safe space, paired with a listening, nonjudgmental ear can be impossible to come by. Couple this absence of safety with trauma, anxiety, depression, grief and relationship challenges that impact us all, and we are left with an inability to find life satisfaction. As a counselor, my first priority maintains providing just that. My hope is that through our work together, you leave with a greater sense of direction towards fulfillment and living more authentically.

Awareness around the importance of mental health has come a long way in the last few decades. However, many people still maintain a taboo around its acceptance as a vital factor in an individual’s quality of life. I want to change that. Moving from Pakistan to the United States for my undergraduate studies has provided me with a deep understanding of working with people from diverse backgrounds, and a profound appreciation of all the cultures that make up this country. I am therefore, passionate about providing a validating space for clients from all gender, sexual, and cultural identities.

There are so many situations where people do not feel heard or understood, which is why it is my first goal in therapy to establish a safe and collaborative environment with all of my clients, regardless of age or concern. I am devoted to meeting my clients where they are in their mental health journey and viewing them with a compassionate, holistic lens in order to better understand their lived experiences. This kind of warm, safe, and non-judgemental relationship is the cornerstone to my approach to therapy.

I appreciate working with people who desire a Christian perspective. I have a passion for my relationship with Christ and strive to be obedient to His leading. I trust that Christ has provided me with talents, knowledge and discernment to work with people who are hurting, lost, feeling hopeless and wrestling with daily life issues.

His clinical experience includes preengagement counseling, premarital counseling, marriage counseling, family counseling, and working with individuals diagnosed with depression, anxiety, anger, bipolar disorder, self-harm behaviors, addictions, ADHD, identity confusion, trauma, grief and loss, guilt, shame and personality disorders. Andrew served as an Adolescent Therapist at the Excel Center of Lewisville from 2015 to 2018. From 2008 to 2015, Andrew served as an adult Mental Health Case Manager and Hospital Liaison for Denton County MHMR. He and his wife Missy are covenant members of The Village Church Denton.

I specialize in working with children and adolescents alongside their parents. I am also experienced in working with adults who are specifically struggling with depression, anxiety, ADHD, panic attacks, post-traumatic stress disorder, and obsessive-compulsive disorders. My experience in private practice, psychiatric hospitals, mental health programming, and with the Children's Advocacy Center has expanded my knowledge, broadened my clinical experience, and allowed me to expand the clientele and presenting issues I am able to effectively work with.
