I have worked in crisis settings and have experience de-escalating individuals with imminent and passive suicidal thoughts. I have special interest in working with individuals who live with disability; children, teens, and young adults who feel alone on their pathway of life and wonder what meaning is left.

I strive to create a safe space for my clients to explore and navigate the world in which we grew up in and redefine their story. Our mind-body-spirit connection allows us to cultivate a space where all parts of ourselves are welcomed.

I am passionate about helping individuals with disabilities, preteens, teens, couples, and anyone who is needing help on their journey to being healed. I have helped others work through substance abuse, low self-esteem, negative self-image, suicidal behaviors, anxiety, Depression, and families who are trying to develop the skills needed to help support their loved ones. I have also helped couples either dating or married in redefining their relationships and coming back together as a unit.

I find great joy in helping clients who vary in presentation from anxiety to suicidal ideation to trauma. I work with young adults and teens who may be experiencing difficulty with perfectionism, developing relationships, family dynamics, identity development and various other difficulties. Helping clients reveal and create an identity that feels authentic to them is especially important to me. I firmly believe that people know themselves best; they just need the right environment to encourage this. Connection and acceptance along with gentle challenging is key to my approach with clients.

My passion is to serve those who are looking for fulfillment, healing, and more joy in their lives. Through the therapeutic process I aim to empower individuals and families to discover and utilize their own personal strengths to overcome obstacles and struggles. As a therapist I have worked with children, adolescents, adults, and families who have experienced many difficulties including severe trauma, depression, anxiety, self-harm, guilt and shame, suicidal ideation, attachment barriers, and loss. I allow individuals and families to guide the therapy process while I assist in providing insight, feedback, and encouragement.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with 24 years of experience working with adolescents and young adults as well as their families. My experience has been working with clients dealing with depression, anxiety, behavioral issues, suicidal ideation, oppositional defiant disorder, ADHD, and dysfunctional coping skills including self-harming behaviors. Therapy is tailored to the individual using best practices.

My therapy practice is dedicated to helping TEENS, COLLEGE AGE STUDENTS and YOUNG ADULTS through challenging times in their lives. This stage in life is such an important time in one’s development and it is easy to become overwhelmed, anxious, and depressed with all that life is throwing at you. I have worked with teens and young adults for over twenty years, and now as a trauma therapist I find there is a greater need than ever to give teens and young adults the coping skills needed to deal with the challenges and stressors they are facing on a daily basis. Some of my brightest young clients feel they are 'not good enough.'

My name is Devine Carson. I am a Michigan native that currently resides in and works across the valley in Arizona. I am a master's level clinician specializing in therapeutic intervention modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to assist with general mental health, concerns such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, etc. I also have a history of working with domestic violence, sexual abuse (victims and offenders), trauma, and holistic health and wellness. Additionally, my background is in forensic psychology, and have experience working with individuals in the legal system.

I am the best fit for a family who has children between the ages from birth to 24 years old. I offer support to families who are struggling with challenging behaviors from their children and adolescents in home or at school. I offer a unique systemic approach that includes parents in the treatment process that is not found in many other practices. This systemic approach is extremely affective and helps keep parents in the loop and helps families complete the treatment goal faster than other approaches. As I believe therapy for children should be brief and solution focused so they can get back to being a kid.
