About
My practice is focused on helping individuals who struggle with depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorders and post-traumatic stress. I specialize in comprehensive grief and loss issues and am passionate about empowering women and other survivors of abuse. Since the relationship between a client and therapist is a strong predictor of a positive outcome, my goal is to provide a supportive, safe and accepting environment where you will feel understood and respected while moving towards self awareness, greater happiness and solutions to problems.
I believe in a strengths based approach that supports you on a journey uniquely your own while incorporating mindfulness practices and relaxation methods such as guided imagery and breathing techniques. Often I will access the healing power of metaphor and visual representation.
My qualifications include extensive training in Cognitive Behavioral, Solution-Focused, Family Systems, Motivational Interviewing, and Trauma Therapy. I am a certified Cognitive Behavioral Therapist, Grief and Loss counselor and was a licensed Substance Abuse Counselor for over 10 years. I was certified in equine therapy through Eagala in 2012.
