About
I am a licensed psychologist with a passion for helping people who are struggling with behaviors and negative thought patterns that prevent them from reaching their important life goals. I recognize that a number of factors in one's life can result in unhealthy coping strategies and behaviors that interfere with the ability to form healthy, rewarding relationships, positive self-esteem, and ability to thrive. I have studied and taught DBT skills for 10 + years and have been delighted to see clients progress and gain a sense of mastery over their emotions and lives through the use of DBT and other treatment modalities that I employ.
I strive to provide a non-judgmental and supportive environment for all my clients. My goal is to offer tools and insight from various therapeutic strategies to help clients develop awareness and skills that will allow them to make positive changes leading to a more rewarding life, improved self-esteem, and a better sense of control over their lives.
If you find yourself struggling to find a sense peace and accomplishment in life due to chronic, negative behavior and thought patterns, I invite you to contact me to explore whether I might be able to help you on your path to establishing a more rewarding life.

Sue Traweek's Groups
Online DBT Skills Group (Beginning June 21) $45
My DBT Skills groups provide an opportunity for learning and practicing the DBT skills outlined in Marsha Linehan's DBT Skills Training Manual. The full course of DBT consists of 4 modules - Mindfulness, Emotion Regulation, Distress Tolerance, and Interpersonal Effectiveness. Typically, it takes about 26 sessions to cover all 4 modules. I am passionate about teaching DBT skills, not only due to the research support for the efficacy of the skills, but also due to positive changes I have seen in clients who engage in learning and practicing the skills. Please feel free to contact me for more information.
