Helena Washington has worked in behavioral health for over 25 years. Finding her passion helping individuals and families heal from internal conflict, Helena honed her skills working with co-occurring health challenges, with life adjustment, failure to launch & addiction. With a genuine heart, she focuses on wholistic mental wellness, addiction recovery, the impacted family and associated trauma. While utilizing best practices, striving for positive change, she prides herself on being a culturally sensitive clinician.
Helena utilizes CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma & Grief Component Therapy for Children and Adolescents, and is trained as a Trauma Informed clinician for adults and families. In addition, Helena focuses on family preservation and healing the traumatic impact of behavioral health life interruptions, Substance Use Disorders and comorbidities.
Helena became a credentialed addiction counselor in 1996. She then went on to earn her Master's Degree in Counseling in 2001, specializing in mental health & addiction, brain trauma, and sustainable change. Helena also utilizes her social science insight to provide continuing education workshops, keynote presentations, and organizational trainings.
