Hi! My name is Megan Townsend and I am so glad you decided to take this step for yourself. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate under the supervision of Dr. Tommy Vaughn. I earned my Masters in Counseling and Clinical Rehabilitation through the University of South Carolina in 2023. I have experience working with adolescents and adults in an addictions counseling agency, as well as 7+ years working directly with adolescents.

We are a nonprofit out-patient mental health and addiction counseling center serving Horry County in four locations; North Myrtle Beach, Surfside, Conway, and Loris. Our professional staff of 30 Master's level counselors and social workers with specialties in play therapy, addictions, marital and family counseling, and trauma recovery are here to help you deal with mental, emotional, spiritual, and relational issues.

At Carolina Health & Recovery we provide a wealth of services but really focus to specialize in a few. Our society lives in a “doc in the box” and a “program” treatment world. I have been in the helping business for the last 25 years. Hello, I am Jim Bennett ,Counselor. I have compassionately worked with families, couples, individuals, teens and groups for over 29 years. I have worked with these clients in a private practice setting and in an addictions treatment center setting. I have accomplished Masters Degrees in both Counseling and Clinical Psychology. I studied both disciplines to equip myself for assessment as well as treatment . I became a counselor to help teens navigate their way into adulthood. I quickly found that the family is where it all starts. Therefore, I focused on family/marriage counseling. From there I branched into addiction counseling.
