It is my belief that each of us can heal from emotional, physical and sexual trauma. In the prescense of compassion, kindness and non-judgment, I listen to, and witness the suffering and profound pain shared during therapy. In therapy, the healing power of compassion; sense of being understood by and cared for by another human being is offered. Each of us has the same needs when we are suffering; to feel validated, safe and understood for the duration of our journey. My approach to counseling and consulting draws from rich traditions of spirituality, energy healing, and psychology. Hypnosis is a safe and effective tool for achieving personal goals, whether you want to stop doing something (smoking, over eating, biting fingernails, feeling anxious, worrying, any unwanted habit) or want to start doing something (eating better, exercising, improve concentration, test scores, even athletic ability). It can be utilized to improve mood, reduce tension and stress, relieve feelings of overwhelm and teach the body to deeply relax. Further, Hypnotherapy is well documented as an effective treatment for chronic pain and complements medical treatment. Regular practice of hypnotism reduces blood pressure and improves sleep.

Welcome! Choosing a therapist is a big decision and I appreciate your consideration! I have 30 years of experience working with people of all ages dealing with every issue under the sun, including trauma such as childhood abuse, sexual assault, and accidents. I enjoy teaching better communication to couples. Though not a veteran myself, I was an Air Force "brat" and know how difficult it can be to transition back from active duty. I have traveled widely and appreciate cultural diversity. I like to help people make the right decisions for them regarding issues like staying in or leaving college or a marriage, coming out, etc.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with many years of experience working with people who suffer from symptoms of anxiety and depression. My approach is deeply personalized and tailored for each individual. Often, the root cause of distress is related to trauma or neglect. I work with individuals holistically through painful memories, helping them to unveil false beliefs about themselves and their potential. I have extensive experience treating those with substance abuse issues, helping them to discover the underlying issues and to develop healthier ways to cope with the pain.

I believe that therapy is a collaboration between therapist and client. My goal is to help you to live a full and satisfying life; through self-awareness, more flexible and creative coping skills, improved self-esteem and an increasing ability to make better decisions on your own behalf. I am able to form a therapeutic bond with a great variety of people and I believe in the healing power of the therapeutic relationship.
