I use an approach that emphasizes person-centered treatment. More specifically, this approach focuses on recovery, wellness and resilience. The essence of this approach involves coaching, cheerleading, facilitating, and mentoring. In addition, I focus on building a partnership with the individual to create of an individual plan that serves as each person’s road map to recovery. Principles of hope, empowerment and self-determination are heavily emphasized.
I encourage the development of an individual vision which reflects preferences, abilities, strengths, goals, & cultural identity. Working together to identify the individual's life goals and removing barriers to their recovery and wellness.
My specialty areas include using evidenced-based approaches (such as Cognitive-Behavioral, Exposure Response Prevention,Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Cognitive Processing) to treat anxiety disorders,OCD, hoarding, PTSD, trauma, and mood-related disorders.
