With over twenty five years experience in El Paso and Teller counties working with individuals, families and groups, I believe that difficulties often bring us to a place of change. Change comes with an assortment of feelings: relief, fear, sometimes both. My personal background is rich in diversity and experience. With unconditional acceptance and compassion for my clients, I am known for my work with a variety of people. We identify the problem and then focus on solutions together. I am a licensed family therapist with level III certification in addictions counseling and experience working with individuals and groups as well.
We are impacted by our family histories and, as we understand this, we can make new choices. I'll help you look at addictive behavior patterns, family systems, abuse history, foster family experiences, grief/loss/healing, and personal growth challenges. I also do group therapy work with adolescents, adults and seniors.
Feel free to call with questions and discuss what you are looking for in therapy. Together we can de-escalate a crisis, develop goals or process an experience. If you are interested in my approach to addictions, I believe in the 12-Step model. Nevertheless I do respect alternative recovery paths.
