You've heard the saying "everything happens for a reason". I believe this can be true, but there are also many occurrences in our lives that don't always make sense, even if we can still derive some sort of meaning from them. On more of a personal level, I believe our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are happening for a reason and I seek to help you find those answers. Oftentimes, these reasons are connected to past experiences, whether that be from your childhood or other significant moments in time. And depending on how you experienced that event, your perceptions about yourself, others, and the world have been impacted.
Everyone can benefit from therapy! I specialize in treating trauma, addictive behaviors, substance use, mood disorders, and anxiety. My main approaches are EMDR, ACT, IFS, and CBT (lots of letters, I know...). Mostly though, through compassion, humor, and warmth, I want to hear your story and support you in making the changes you want for yourself.
