My passion is to help individuals transform their lives with addiction and substance abuse troubles and other life problems. Since most addiction is rooted in trauma, we will explore the hurts that led to addiction. I use my personal journey of recovery coupled with clinical experience to best serve my clients to assist them to understand their unconscious dynamics, to work towards an emotional awareness which allows them to change their life patterns and release that which binds them from living a more fulfilling life. Currently, I am the co-owner of Collaborative Counseling and Training where we believe in utilizing evidence based, effective strategies, in a private, professional setting to assist you in addressing problems and goals including stress, anxiety, depression, substance related and behavioral problems, relationship issues and other concerns.

The three primary goals I help my clients work towards in therapy are healing, recovery, and change. My areas of concentration include trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, divorce recovery, narcissistic abuse recovery, and work/career-related stress. Because your unique needs bring you to therapy, we will develop goals to meet such needs and evaluate our progress as we work towards set goals. My approach to treatment is conventional (evidence-based techniques), and faith-based Christian counseling. None of us is immune to life's stressors, but effective therapy can help us remain at peace as we handle those.

As a therapist I have worked with individuals, couples, and family units on problems such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and many other issues that cause distress and disruption in lives. I am trauma informed and trained in EMDR and have finished the Gottman Level 1 training for couples. I use an integrated approach to create a team with my client to treat the whole person, not just the symptoms. I help my clients assess the psychological, social factors that may be contributing to the problem presented. As a team, my clients and I work towards identifying the changes that they feel are needed to make to improve their life or situation. I also encourage family involvement in treatment to ensure that everyone has an understanding of what is going on with the situation and to provide support. I find most cases brief therapy is able to help people deal effectively with difficult situations.
