I'm Robyn, a LPC currently serving the Baton Rouge & Lafayette areas. I work with people who are looking for someone to help guide them on their journey to something different. I tend to be relaxed in sessions and approach therapy as a partnership. I'm straight forward and direct with my clients but my promise is to treat you with respect and compassion, always. I am trained in EMDR and hypnosis and am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, undergoing a variety of trainings with a focus on trauma. I have also completed the Louisiana Association of Substance Abuse Counselors and Trainers program for addictions.

In the past, I have asked people to spend a few minutes writing down what they wish to accomplish prior to engaging in an activity. Two or three goal statements are sufficient. Experience and research have shown that this method is most effective when the goals are specific and measurable. It is my hope that this will provide a clear sense of direction.

As a licensed clinical social worker and a PhD in psychological anthropology, I've spent over 20 years studying how people all over the world overcome their suffering. I help clients develop life skills to improve their relationships, decrease their anxiety and find joy in and acceptance of the present moment. Specifically, I combine mindfulness and meditation with cognitive behavioral therapy and traditional psychodynamic methods so that clients can both understand and change what blocks them from happiness.
