I integrate a variety theoretical models to my therapeutic approach. Holistic, patient- centered therapy goals, are solution focused and include: creating new problem solving skills through behavior modification, improving interpersonal relationships through distress tolerance, and establishing self- awareness through emotion regulation. As a therapist, I strive to establish a partnership with my patients. I believe when a positive connection is made the patient has the ability to trust. My professional goal is to incorporate evidence-based practices in order to provide proof that change is occurring.
My prior experience in child welfare has given me a greater understanding of family systems and issues surrounding personal and interpersonal relationships. My approach is warm, empathetic and supportive. I believe establishing treatment goals is a collaborative effort between the patient and therapist.
I earned my Bachelors Degree in Social Work from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and my Masters Degree in Social Work from Dominican University at River Forrest. I am currently a Doctoral Candidate at Aurora University's School of Social Work.
