Life can be wonderful, but it can also be messy and difficult at times. I work with people who face a variety of challenges, including anxiety, depression, life changes, and concern over climate change. I believe that every person is unique, and I bring respect for that uniqueness into the therapeutic relationship. I am continually fascinated at the complexity, creativity, and resiliency of people. It is my hope that my clients feel genuinely valued and gain further understanding of themselves and their behaviors through the collaborative exploratory work we do together. Then a new way of living becomes possible.
As the world faces increasing climate challenges, I'm currently training in Climate Psychology. If you have been impacted by climate change or worry about the possibility of being affected by climate change and/or biodiversity loss, please reach out. My Masters degree is from the University of Chicago; my undergraduate degree from UNC-CH.
I have a long-standing interest in the mind-body connection and have taught meditation, relaxation techniques, and mindfulness for years. Often, I help people learn to relate better to others. I also use humor in therapy and encourage a reconnection with nature and the body if necessary.
