Hello! I'm Dr. Megan Murphy and I have been a Marriage and Family Therapist for over 25 years. I have taught in Family Therapy graduate programs for over 20 years. My career focus has been on power dynamics in relationships, most recently focusing on narcissistic abuse in family relationships, intimate relationships, and in the workplace, including academia.

I work with teens 11 and older, as well as individuals, couples, and families, including co-parenting counseling. If your issues are relationship oriented (parent/child, between partners, co-parents, or family related issues), related to phase of life transitions or changes, such as marital crisis, separation, divorce, marriage, remarriage, blending a family, empty nest, co parenting challenges, retirement, and you're looking for a goal-oriented approach to figuring out a pathway through, I can help. We will pinpoint the issues, set goals, get a plan in place, and work together toward positive change.

My therapeutic skills cover a wide variety of areas, but are particularly well suited to help those who want to actualize their full potential, become Empowered, and for those who have Internet Addiction (i.e. video game addiction, information addiction, social media addiction, entertainment addiction, and spending addiction). Engaging in therapy with me can help you have more agency and set you on the path to becoming who you were made to be. Typical focus areas include improving relationships and communication skills, reducing anxiety, living more authentically, developing balance, setting boundaries, and becoming more assertive.

I am dedicated to working with people who want to get at the roots of their emotional pain and distress. My fundamental approach to treatment is relational. Therapy is a process where we will develop an alliance in which your emotional and developmental needs are made a priority. Over time, an internalized healing space forms where you can recover access to parts of your true self. Speaking freely without unnecessary self-censorship may be simple, but it is not easy.
