Strides offers therapy services to children and adolescents ages 0-21 with a variety of needs.. Our direct service model involves behavior management, emotion management, and the use of coping skills in order to increase appropriate adaptive behavior. We treat a variety of mental health issues in this age group. Individual therapy generally focuses on the growth and development of communications, social skills, emotional regulation and coping skills, cognitive flexibility, maladaptive behaviors, compliance, parent training, and home/school consultations. Family sessions help address unique struggles within the family dynamic.
We are able to assess and diagnose a variety of issues including autism spectrum disorder, and make a recommendation and treatment plan following this assessment. We offer traditional office based sessions, as well as offering equine facilitated psychotherapy when desired. We also have therapists certified in EMDR.
We use a collaborative approach to treatment with families and other involved providers to facilitate growth and generalization of skills based on child and family’s strengths, needs, and barriers.
