Hi, my name is Tasheena, I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor, LPC and am licensed in both West Virginia and South Carolina. I have a BA in Psychology from the University of Charleston and an MS in Professional Counseling from Grand Canyon University. I have experience providing therapy services to at-risk youth and their families within the court and corrections settings regarding substance use, behavioral issues, emotion regulation, relationships, communication, process addictions, and a variety of other issues depending on the client's needs.

I work to create a whole-brain and body approach to healing for each individual client through the use of EMDR. Emotional and behavioral challenges in childhood and adolescence affects the child and rest of the family unit as well. Caregivers often find themselves heartbroken while they watch their child struggle through issues they wish they could take away, and if the child is acting out behaviorally, it is common for caregivers to even feel hurt and confused. I offer therapy services for children ages 3 and up, as well as adults and families for the diagnosis and treatment of emotional, relational, and behavioral concerns, as well as offer support services and psychoeducation to their caregivers and other family members.

I utilize an individualized approach to target clinical symptoms and personality issues. My interventions are evidence based with the goal of empowering others to better understand the origins of their issues and to make meaningful changes, regardless of diagnostic labels. I believe everyone deserves to be assisted and supported to live to their full potential and particularly enjoy working with those who have experienced complex trauma from childhood and relationship experiences.
