Hello! My name is Lynn Lynes and I am a psychotherapist licensed to practice in Virginia, Maryland, and DC. I have experience working with all ages, but my passion is working with teens and young adults; lots of young folks are experiencing Depression and suicide thoughts, Anxiety, Panic, OCD, substance abuse, PTSD, and/or Trauma. Most of us are resilient and can work through distressing events and overwhelming stress; however sometimes symptoms interfere with our ability to function to our full potential. Traumatic experiences can and will affect us in various ways. Loneliness, negativity, abandonment, rejection, and our reactions can severely impact our mental health. Ironically, it is often easier to push away people than deal with difficult feelings. Unfortunately, we choose this path by abusing substances, alcohol, and other types of addictions. When we run away from our feelings and challenges, we are not allowing ourselves to heal and recover. Essentially, we are hurting ourselves and others.
