As we go through life we face challenges, from these challenges we may experience pain and suffering. As this pain becomes stored within us it creates burdens that may sometimes be too heavy to bear. As a result many may turn to temporary solutions. As I work with clients to explore and resolve pain and trauma more permanent solutions are often discovered and the burden of pain is reduced.

Being able to cope with the emotional and mental aspects of life can be overwhelming for everyone. In particular, many men were taught from the time we were young children not to allow feelings to get in the way of life, that men either don’t need to or shouldn’t have emotions without feeling shame for this fact. That simply isn’t true. I am here to tell you that men can learn to process issues and emotions– this is the time for you to feel self-value, dignity and confidence.

Each person is unique in their strengths and needs therefore therapy must be individualized. I believe that my role as a therapist, is to create an environment where one enjoys coming in to see me and can leave with a sense of hope for their future. My style is to be my genuine self, casual and comfortable, accepting of everyone along with all their thoughts and emotions. Therapy does not have to be intimidating or scary; it can be a positive and peaceful experience.

Do you feel stuck? Everyone has times in their life where they hit the wall and don't know how to break out of a rut. For some, this looks like a relationship that leaves partners feeling disconnected and lonely. For others, you might feel stuck struggling to overcome the wounds from past experiences that keep you from enjoying the life that you deserve. Healing is hard, but it's possible. I believe people are happiest when they are connected to who they are and know how to bond with those that they love.

During times of struggle or change having someone to help you through is invaluable. An outside perspective can be beneficial in navigating through and overcoming challenges. As a team, we can get through those tough times. You are an individual and as such my approach varies with what works best for you. Empathy and compassion are key components of client care. My skills have a wide range of applicability and I am passionate about my work. I don't know if any of us could have predicted that 2020 would bring us so many challenges. Living during times of crisis can be more stressful and overwhelming, which can make dealing with stress, anxiety, depression and relationship issues even harder. Asking for help, and taking time to take care of you is a healthy and important part of handling it all. With all of us going through so much, it's even more important than ever to take good care of ourselves. I specialize in helping people with relationship issues, LDS faith crisis/transition, grief and loss, and living a life of authenticity.

During my career, I've worked with children, teens, and adults dealing with a variety of trauma-related issues and cyclical behaviors. I am an LCSW with 18 years of social work experience in multiple settings including inpatient behavioral health, inpatient medical, crisis services, schools, and hospice. I specialize in working with individuals with anxiety, depression, ADHD, ASD, self-harm, and adjustment to life circumstances. As an experienced medical social worker, I am skilled in working with families who are impacted by chronic medical conditions or disability. I offer individual and group therapy and ADHD coaching.
