My clients often refer to what I call 'blurry trauma,' early attachment experiences that were less than affirming but so ingrained, the client often doesn't recall outstanding events. They may not even remember much about their childhood at all. That kind of trauma leads to addiction, confusing, disorganized or unfulfilling relationships, and difficulty harnessing the resources needed to navigate change so the client can create their most authentic life and relationships. I use present moment, present location resources such as the client's own strengths, passions, and ability to make creative decisions to facilitate safe change.

As a mental health therapist, my job is to be the tool to assist you in the decision-making process and to achieve those goals. I have worked across all levels of care - from outpatient therapy services all the way up to psychiatric hospitals - while treating a variety of issues for teens and adults.

Olivia has eleven plus years as a therapist specializing in providing therapy for children, adolescents and families. She has previous experience working with family court, DCS, and juvenile corrections. She comes to New Directions after working with children, adolescents, and adults in a community mental health setting for over 2 years.

I believe we can all use a little help sometimes. We all experience situations when we need some help figuring out how to move forward in life.
